Volunteer Firefighter From Capital Region Who Died At Age 33 Was 'Excited To Become Father' Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a volunteer firefighter and expectant father from the region following his death. William Wade, of Halfmoon in Saratoga County, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the age of 33, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given. Born in Schenectady on Nov. 14, 1988 to parents Thomas Wade and Eileen Brown, Wade was later employed as a carrier for Fed Ex in Menands, his memorial said. Capital Region Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 11-Year-Old A man from the region is accused of sexually abusing a young child.  Jayden Buckmaster, age 18, of Galway in Saratoga County, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 19, following an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies determined that Buckmaster had sexual intercourse with an 11-year-old victim, the sheriff’s office said. He’s now facing charges of first-degree rape and possession of sexual performance by a child, both felonies. Buckmaster was arraigned in the Town of Greenfield Court, where a judge ordered him held at the Saratoga County jail on $25,000 cash bail. …

State Police in Washington County were first contacted about the alleged incident in September 2022. Troopers were told that on Tuesday, Sept. 13, an employee assaulted another worker at the White Creek Highway Department, located on County Route 68. While talking with the 64-year-old driver, Fred Weinkauff, of Troy, troopers determined that the trailer had previously been reported stolen from Warren County in February 2019, police said.
