Second Jury Convicts 3 DC Men In Shooting That Left One Dead, Another Wounded: DOJ
A second jury reached the verdict the first one couldn't.
Three DC men were convicted on Friday, Oct. 2, in the 2021 murder of 34-year-old Delonte King, who was shot in the head and back during a burst of gunfire that also wounded another man.
Demonte Gibson, 28, Tre’Quan Nelson, 26, and Asani Forte, 29, were found guilty following a retrial in DC Superior Court, more than a year after their first trial ended with a hung jury.
King was killed shortly after 2 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2021, when gunfire broke out in the 2800 block of 14th Street NW.

A 24-year-old man killed during a robbery outside his DC home had just a dime in his pocket when police found him after the November 2023 shooting, according to federal prosecutors.
Now, the man who killed Jireh Martinez is headed to prison for 20 years.
Kenneth Coleman, 37, was sentenced on Friday, Oct. 2, after pleading guilty to second-degree murder while armed in the Nov. 17, 2023, killing.

It started with someone pulling on car door handles at 4:15 in the morning. It ended with a 23-year-old dead, and two men facing murder charges nearly two months later.
District residents Henry Buchanan, 48, and Charles Jenkins, 46, were arrested in connection with the Aug. 4 shooting death of Xavier Fogle in Northwest DC, federal authorities announced on Friday, Oct. 2.

Fashion CEO, Wife Found Shot Dead Outside California Residence
A fashion company CEO and his wife were found shot dead outside their California home, according to multiple reports.
Neighbors identified the couple as Bryan and Michelle Walker, who built the women’s clothing brand, Bryn Walker.
They were found outside their home on Panoramic Way in Oakland, California, on Friday, Oct. 2, The Berkeley Scanner reported.
