A massive fire in the Hudson Valley destroyed numerous apartments and left almost 100 people displaced. The blaze broke out in Rockland County around 4 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Surrey Carlton Apartments on Slinn Avenue in Spring Valley. According to the American Red Cross, by 5 p.m., Sunday some 63 adults and 83 children had signed up for assistance. Woman Found Dead On South Boston Beach ID'd By Police; Investigators Narrow Cause of Death
A woman whose body was found on Carson Beach in South Boston Monday morning, Oct. 16, has been identified as a 29-year-old woman. Megan Anderson, whose last permanent address was in Las Vegas, was found on the beach near Day Boulevard just before 7 a.m., Massachusetts State Police said. She may have been homeless. Philadelphia police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in the killing of journalist and activist Josh Kruger.
