Police Chief Blames NY's Bail Reform Law For 'Serial Intoxicated Driver' Busted 3 Months In Row A New York police chief is blasting the state’s bail reform laws, claiming they are directly to blame for a repeat DWI offender who was arrested three times in just as many months. Albany County resident Brandon McKinley, age 42, of Watervliet, was sentenced to an aggregate term of three to nine years in prison in Albany County Court Tuesday, Nov. 15. The sentence followed his September 2022 guilty plea to three counts of driving while intoxicated, a felony. CA Man Brandished Gun During Disturbance At Long Island Motel, Police Say An out-of-state man is facing charges after allegedly brandishing a gun during a disturbance at a Long Island motel. Nassau County Police were called to East Meadow’s Coliseum Motor Inn, located on Hempstead Parkway, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, after getting reports that a man had displayed a firearm in the hallway. When officers arrived, they determined that Miguel Lara, age 31, of California, was the man who had prompted the call. Capital Region Man Admits To Attempted Sex Trafficking Of 14-Year-Old A Capital Region man will spend at least a decade in federal prison after admitting that he tried to pay for sex with a child. Saratoga County resident Bradley Boisen, age 26, of Waterford, pleaded guilty to attempted sex trafficking of a child Tuesday, No. 15, in federal court in Albany. According to the US Attorney’s Office in the Northern District, Boisen admitted that in April 2021 he paid another person $60 in order to have sex with a 14-year-old. Man Set Fire To Occupied Gym At Long Island College, Police Say Police are searching for a man accused of setting fire to a Long Island college gymnasium while people were inside, authorities said. The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Nassau Community College in Uniondale, according to Nassau County Police. Investigators said the man set fire to a poster on a wall in the gym, which was occupied at the time, causing damage. 69-Year-Old Woman Dies In Crash With Commercial Vehicle In Capital Region A 69-year-old woman has died following a crash in the region Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, authorities said. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called at around 9:30 a.m. with reports of a crash on State Route 146 in Halfmoon, at the intersection of Farm to Market Road, State Police said.
