Man Steals Numerous Catalytic Converters From Long Island RV Dealer, DA Says A 38-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly stealing numerous catalytic converters from a Long Island RV dealer. Blaise Marckesano, of Shirley, was arraigned on more than a dozen criminal charges in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Feb. 9. Prosecutors said Marckesano stole six catalytic converters from recreational vehicles that were parked at W.E.S. Trailer Services in Wading River, between Dec. 11 and Dec. 13, 2021. Catalytic converters are part of a vehicle’s exhaust and contain precious metals like palladium, platinum, and rhodium. They are frequently targeted by thieves. …

39-Year-Old Dies In Daytime Shooting In Capital Region A 39-year-old man was shot and killed during an altercation in the region, authorities said. Police in Albany were called at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, with reports of a shooting in the West Hill neighborhood near Sherman and Quail streets, according to Albany Police. Investigation Into Fatal Overdose On Long Island Lands Man In Jail An investigation into a fatal drug overdose on Long Island has landed a 48-year-old man behind bars. Derrick Perry, of Jamaica, Queens, was arrested on multiple drug charges in Valley Stream on Wednesday, Feb. 8, according to Nassau County Police. Admitted Child Sex Abuser From Long Island Busted Trying To Flee Country, DA Says A Long Island man who admitted to sexually abusing a young child over the course of several years was arrested as he tried fleeing the country, prosecutors said. Yonathan Ramirez Argueta, age 28, of Central Islip, pleaded guilty to multiple child sex crimes in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
