Slithery Surprise: 14-Foot Python Found On Side Of NY Road Wildlife officers in New York got a slithery surprise on Valentine’s Day when a massive reticulated python was found on the side of a Long Island road. Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) officers were called Tuesday, Feb. 14, with reports that a large snake had been found on the side of the road in the town of Medford, according to the agency. Shoplifters Nab $8K Worth Of Perfume From 2 Long Island Victoria's Secret Stores Police are asking for the public’s help after several people stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from two Long Island Victoria’s Secret stores. The first incident happened just before 2 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in Oceanside, at the Victoria’s Secret on Long Beach Road, according to Nassau County Police. Repeat Home Burglar Busted By Air Tag On Long Island Gets More Prison Time A violent felon with a history of breaking into Long Island homes is heading back to prison after pleading guilty to another burglary charge. Jose Osorio, age 58, was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison on Monday, Feb. 27 in Suffolk County Court. It followed his guilty plea to a second-degree burglary charge in November 2022. Duo Steals $16K Worth Of Jewelry From Long Island Business, Police Say Police are investigating after two people stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a Long Island business. The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Cedarhurst, at The Jewelry Showroom on Central Avenue, according to Nassau County Police.
