Driver From Region Stranded On Highway Was 3 Times Legal Limit For Alcohol, Police Say A woman from the region is facing drunk driving charges after she was allegedly found on the Thruway with a blood alcohol concentration three times the legal limit to drive, authorities said. State Police in Orange County spotted 36-year-old Karen Bermejo, of Albany, at around 3:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, on I-87 in the town of Tuxedo after getting word that her vehicle had a flat tire. Duo Used Stolen Credit Cards To Buy Target Gifts Cards In Capital Region, Police Say Police in the region are asking for help in identifying two people wanted in connection with a grand larceny investigation involving stolen credit cards. The credit cards were in a purse that was stolen in Columbia County from La Bella’s Restaurant in Valatie in September 2022, according to State Police. Passenger Busted With Illegal Gun, Ammunition During Traffic Stop On Long Island, Police Say A traffic stop on Long Island ended with a passenger in handcuffs on weapons charges. Officers in New Cassel stopped a Dodge Charger at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, near Prospect and Magnolia avenues due to a suspended registration, according to Nassau County Police. While speaking with the driver, a man in the passenger seat, 38-year-old Ishmel Cohen, of Brooklyn, began acting suspiciously and officers asked him to exit the vehicle. They Targeted Corner Lots: Duo Charged In $150K Burglary Spree At Long Island Homes Two men are facing charges in connection with a string of burglaries on Long Island. Joshua Mellado-Gonzalez, age 32, and Mauricio Fuentes-Jimenez, age 31, both of Queens Village, were arrested by Nassau County Police on Thursday, Dec. 29.
