An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Somers Point Arsonist Learns Fate: Prosecutor A 24-year-old Somers Point man was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday, May 15, after setting fire to a home, authorities said. Deshaun Howard had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated arson in January, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. 7 Injured In Route 80 Crash: Njsp Seven people were injured in a single-car crash on Route 80 in Warren County on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 14, authorities said. At 4:56 p.m., troopers responded to Interstate 80 West in Allamuchy after a Chevrolet passenger vehicle traveling west lost directional control and ran off the roadway, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Hamilton Man Fatally Stabbed In Trenton: Police A 48-year-old Hamilton man was fatally stabbed in Trenton on the evening of Wednesday, May 14, authorities said. At 7:05 p.m., Jermaine Scott arrived at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a stab wound to the abdomen, Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta Marbrey said. Scott was rushed into surgery but later died of his injuries, Marbrey said. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Marbrey said.
