Mail Theft: CT Postal Carrier Charged With Stealing Packages, Distributing Cocaine A US Postal Service mail carrier in Connecticut faces potentially decades in prison after federal agents say he stole mail and distributed cocaine. New Haven County resident Shawn R. Fuller, age 36, of Hamden, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and three counts of theft of mail by a postal employee, the US Attorney for Connecticut said. Fuller was released on a $100,000 bond, the prosecutor said. Fatal Fire: Person Died Trying To Get Personal Items Out Of Flames In Cummington One person was killed and another seriously injured in an early morning fire on Friday, April 28, in Hampshire County, authorities said. Cummington firefighters received a 911 call just after 5:30 a.m. to 9 Thayer Corner Road, where they found a two-story home completely engulfed in flames, the state fire marshal said. A preliminary investigation showed that the two occupants escaped the fire, but one went back inside to retrieve personal items and did not make it back out, officials said. Police Find Fentanyl, Ammo During Raid In Lawrence: DA A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Friday, April 28, after police raided his apartment and found drugs and ammunition, authorities said. Samuel Guzman Jr. was charged with one count of trafficking fentanyl (100+ grams) and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. Guzman pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a judge ordered him held on a $100,000 bail. Along with the drugs and ammo, police said they seized $3,762 that is pending forfeiture at the 11 Lawrence St. apartment.
