Weekend Ferry Service Between Ossining, Rockland Off To Great Start With Increased Ridership Months after the launch of a weekend ferry service between Westchester and Rockland counties, ridership is only going up, officials announced.  Since weekend service on the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry was started in May, ridership numbers have continued to climb each month, MTA officials announced on Wednesday, July 31.  According to the MTA, ridership in July reached an average of 455 trips a day on the weekend compared to 240 trips a day in May. Car Crashes Into Store In Hartsdale A store in Westchester was damaged when a woman crashed her car into it.  The crash happened on Friday, Aug. 2 just after 8:30 a.m., when a car crashed into the Mattress Firm store in Hartsdale at 84 South Central Ave. According to the Hartsdale Fire Department, the car was found 50 feet into the store with the front driver's side over the basement stairwell. 37-Year-Old Man Dies After Stabbing In Mount Vernon: Suspect At Large Authorities are investigating a stabbing that left a 37-year-old man dead in Westchester.  The incident happened on Thursday, Aug. 1 around 10:20 p.m., when the victim was taken to the Mount Vernon Hospital Emergency Room after being stabbed numerous times at the intersection of Union Avenue and East 3rd Street in Mount Vernon, according to city officials.  Despite best efforts, the victim died at the hospital. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.  A crime scene has since been established at the site of the stabbing, which is under investigation…

Lanes Reopen On I-95 In Rye After Crash All lanes of a busy interstate in Westchester have reopened to traffic following a crash. All lanes of Interstate 95 South in Rye in the area of Exit 20 and Exit 19 have reopened following a crash on Friday, Aug. 2 around 11:30 a.m., New York State Police announced.  All southbound lanes of the highway had been closed to traffic for more than an hour following the crash and reopened around 1:10 p.m.  More details about the crash have not yet been released. Water Main Break Compromises Stretch Of Busy Yonkers Road, Causes Closure Police have closed part of a busy road in Westchester following a water main break that potentially compromised the roadway's structure.  The main break was found on Thursday morning, Aug. 1 in the area of Riverdale Avenue and Vark Street in Yonkers, according to Yonkers Police.
