$270K In Cocaine, Heroin Seized In Major Mercer County Bust
About $270,000 worth of cocaine and heroin was seized as part of a drug investigation in Mercer County, authorities said. Terrance Young, 34, of Ewing, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 30, as part of the sting, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. The investigation was conducted by the members of the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ewing, Hamilton and Trenton police. Person, Dog Killed In Ewing Fire: Police
An adult and a dog were killed in a fire that ripped through a Ewing home Tuesday night, police said. First responders were called to the Boone Avenue blaze shortly before 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 23, amid reports of a possible entrapment inside, Ewing police said. Officers tried to breach the home, but were unable to due to heavy smoke and heat conditions. 14 NJ Businesses Newly-Barred From Practicing For Shortchanging Workers: DOL
An additional 14 New Jersey businesses have been barred from practicing for short-changing workers and other violations, bringing the total to 82, according to the state's Labor and Workforce Development Department. A 76-year-old former Mercer County high school teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a student in the 1990s, authorities said. Joseph DePuglio, of Ewing, had a sexual relationship with the girl when he taught at Steinert High School in Hamilton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.
