Popular Suffolk County Eatery Gets High Marks For Burgers, Wings
A well-known Long Island restaurant is seeing praise for its burgers and wings.
The Whiskey Barrel is located at 138 Main St. in Port Jefferson. The eatery opened its doors in the spring.
In addition to its wide variety of beer, wine and whiskey, the eatery also offers a selection of salads, wraps, sandwiches and more.
A number of online reviewers have shouted out The Whiskey Barrel's wings, which can be made with a variety of different sauces, including mustard brown sugar, buffalo, sweet BBQ and "Barrel Sauce," which is maple bourbon sauce.

Suffolk County Man Charged After Spray-Painting Nine Buildings, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after police said he spray-painted "Defund the Police" or "Defund Suffolk PD" on nine buildings.
Thomas Rivas, age 26, of Huntington, was arrested and charged with nine counts of making graffiti, the Suffolk County Police Department announced on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
SCPD said the following buildings were spray-painted between March and April of 2021:

Police Investigation String Of Burglaries At Long Island Businesses
Police detectives are investigating a string of overnight burglaries that occurred at Long Island businesses.
The burglaries happened from Thursday, Sept. 23 to Thursday, Oct. 7 in Suffolk County.
During the "smash-and-grab" burglaries, a man breaks a window or glass door, enters the business, and steals cash, said police.
Suffolk County Police say they occurred at the following locations:
Lemon Tree, located at 411 Furrows Road in Holbrook, on Sept. 23 between 3:30 a.m. and 7:20 a.m.
