A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured when her electric scooter was struck by a delivery truck on Long Island, police announced on Tuesday, Aug. 18. The Medford woman was riding an electric scooter eastbound on Lake Drive when she was struck at approximately 1:25 p.m., according to Suffolk County Police. Roger Liburd, 47, of Hempstead, was driving a 2019 Ford delivery truck southbound on Lake Drive when the crash happened, police said.
