Public Works Employee Killed By Wrong-Way Driver In Region Was 'Full Of Fun, Energy'
Tributes are pouring in for a newly hired City of Watervliet public works employee who was killed by a wrong-way driver in Albany. Eric Hurley, 38, of Albany, died after his vehicle was struck head-on while driving northbound on I-787 near Exit 2 at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, as Daily Voice reported. The wrong-way driver, identified as 44-year-old Lewis Thomas of Coxsackie, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center, according to New York State Police.
