A 67-year-old Barnegat Township man murdered his wife and then tried to kill himself on Labor Day, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7, Barnegat police responded to Windward Drive and found William Garvin with a knife protruding from his chest and then located Eileen Garvin, his wife, lying dead on the floor, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. An investigation determined Garvin killed his wife and he was charged with murder, Billhimer said. NJ Man Found Dead Along Delaware River In PA ID’d: Coroner
A 30-year-old New Jersey man was found dead along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania over the weekend, authorities announced on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Jayson Bernardo, of Phillipsburg, was discovered on the riverbank at Delaware Canal State Park in the 200 block of South Delaware Drive in Easton around 6:40 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, according to Easton police and Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek.
