Maxwell Rivielle, of Sparta, was driving north on Route 181 at 62 mph in a posted 45-mph zone around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, when Officer Paul Wenzel spotted him, according to Sparta Police Capt. Tom Snyder. Kaushik Sharma, a 41-year-ol Edison, was the paddleboarder who drowned on Lake Hopatcong in Roxbury, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. At 2:30 p.m., bystanders saw an unattended paddleboard and notified a beach lifeguard, prompting a response from numerous agencies, authorities said said. Sharma's body was found at 7 p.m., authorities said.
