Rocky Hill Volleyball Coach Charged With DUI After Fatal Pedestrian Crash
A Connecticut high school volleyball coach has been charged with DUI after police said she struck and killed a 65-year-old pedestrian during Labor Day weekend. Sarah Bezdelovs, 23, of Rocky Hill, was identified as the driver in the crash that killed Miguel A. Collado Almonte around 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, on Glastonbury Avenue in Rocky Hill, police said. Bezdelovs remained at the scene and was charged with driving under the influence. Collado Almonte was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. A New York father called 911 to report that he had been stabbed moments before he died early Monday morning, Sept. 7, police said. Edward Brown called authorities at approximately 12:30 a.m. from his apartment at 73 Mastic Blvd. in Mastic, according to Suffolk County Police.
